Sports Specific Training

Sports specific training requires programming that is very different than the traditional “fitness for the general public” approach.

An athlete requires a careful assessment of their training season to determine proper strength and conditioning workouts that will enable them to maximize their potential on the ice, in the field, in the ring, or on the track.

This careful planning is generally referred to as periodization. Periodization is an organized approach to training that involves variations in load, intensity, volume, and exercise choices during various periods of the athlete’s season. It is a way of alternating the training in order to have an athlete achieve peak performance during their sport seasons most important events.

Fun recreation: We can help you enjoy your chosen activity far more, by targeting the muscles and moves employed in your hobby. It’s more fun if you can improve and be less tired as well!

Serious recreation: We devise special sports specific training programmes to help with your chosen sport. You may be a golfer wanting to seriously reduce your handicap. We can help you feel less tired during and after the round, helping you to make much sharper decisions during play, reducing your score.

You may be a marathon runner or tri-athlete trying to increase your strength and reduce your event times. We can help take you to the next level and beyond. Your only limits could be your level of dedication!

Professional: We analyse your training schedule and programme, we also look carefully at your nutrition and active rest periods, looking for ways to get the edge on your opponents and reach your true potential.

Oxford half marathon 2016- Thank you Dan ! We trained with personal trainer  Dan Buda  with a specific target in mind, the Oxford Half Marathon! It seemed a long shot as none of us had done more than 5k before and the race was only ten weeks away. Dan designed a training programme that was tough but fun. After lots of core training, intervals and hill training,  we all completed the run, had a fantastic day and felt a real sense of achievement.
